On the tenth anniversary of the debut of Pokemon – Silver Version, a remake dubbed Pokémon SoulSilver was published for the Nintendo DS in 2009.
Pokemon – Silver Version Gameplay
Pokémon – Silver Version ROM, like previous versions, players play from a third-person, top-down viewpoint. Players guide the protagonist through the fictitious environment and interact with items and characters. As the player travels around this world, they will come across various terrains. Each terrain like grassy plains, woods, caverns, and seas, is home to various Pokémon species. When the player finds one of these monsters at random, the area transforms into a turn-based “battle scenario,” where the Pokémon fight.
The games have two major objectives. Firstly, completing the Pokédex by catching, evolving, and trading all 251 Pokemon. Secondly, finishing the main plot by beating the Elite Four and Pokémon Master Lance to become the next Champion. One of the most important aspects of this is the player’s Pokémon party. The player develops and raises them by battling other Pokémon found in the wild or owned by other Trainers. The physical attributes of the Pokémon, include combat statistics obtained and learned moves. The player controls them by this system of gaining experience points (EXP) and leveling up.
New Gen Features
Developers retained the core concepts of collecting, battling, and evolving established in Pokémon Red and Blue in Pokémon -Silver Version, while adding new features. Furthermore, Gamefreak implemented a time system, which uses a real-time internal clock to keep track of the current time and weekday. This feature has an impact on certain occurrences, such as Pokémon appearances. The berries, which come in a variety of flavors and may replenish health or cure status problems, were a new sort of item that could be held by Pokemon. Other objects in the Pokémon’s possession can help them win battles. Furthermore, Gamefreak added a new type of Poke Balls, making it simpler to capture Pokémon in specific scenarios.
The Steel-type and the Dark-type are two new Pokémon types. Steel-type Pokémon are immune to Poison-type moves and have high defense and resistance to other types, whereas Dark-type Pokémon are immune to Psychic-type moves and have few weaknesses, as well as being strong against Psychic-type Pokémon (which provides an offensive strategy previously unavailable against Psychic-types). New moves were added in Gold and Silver, however, Another significant alteration was the division of the “Special” stat into “Special Attack” and “Special Defense,” which added new strategic elements.
