Metroid: Zero Mission Gameplay

Metroid: Zero Mission features an open-ended world where you can complete the dungeons as you see fit. You play Samus Aran, the main character. The objective is to hunt Space Pirates in the various caverns and environments Planet Zebes has to offer. There are also a number of different enemies to hunt to advance the story. Most importantly, you must find your way to the Pirates’ base and destroy the Mother Brain.

What the game offers:

  • Collect power-ups!

The power-ups you can collect throughout the game are very useful for augmenting Samus’s weapons and gear. Obtaining these power-ups and using them can help you clear areas you might not have been able to before. In addition, you can get different abilities from using them. This means you should definitely look out for them!

  •  A trip to the past

Experience the original 1986 Metroid game in better graphics and quality. Metroid: Zero Mission’s layout is very similar to the original game. Because of this, a lot of items from previous games make an appearance in Metroid: Zero Mission. If you want to experience a blast from the past, this game offers just that. However, if throwbacks aren’t your thing, there are plenty of new items, mini-bosses, and areas to visit.

  • Explore a new area

Explore a new area called the Chozodia! You can pick up new items, including a Fully Powered Suit, and experience more of the story. The Space Pirates have connected this temple to their ship and have begun excavating it. Meanwhile, Samus must face many dangerous enemies to free the temple from the Space Pirates!

  • See Samus from a new perspective

Unlike its predecessors, Metroid: Zero Mission leaves Samus without her Power Suit for a time. You must adapt to these events and clear the game in a new way! Samus is now more vulnerable and deals less damage. However, she can also sneak around to avoid the enemies!

  • A surprise when you complete the game

Upon completing Metroid: Zero Mission, you unlock an emulated version of the original game on the GBA! Enjoy the levels just as you remember them from your childhood. However, if it’s your first time playing Metroid, this is also a great chance to experience what the levels looked like in 1986 with our ROM!
